I often hear the question “how do i eat coconut oil?”, I usually eat it from the jar with a spoon, however not all of you may like eating coconut oil that way.
At the end of the day, it is food, on the list of necessary functional foods, it is also a superfood. You can substitute coconut oil in all recipes which have oil or butter.
It adds nutrients and a unique tasty flavour to any dish, be it curries, rice, and soups.
Before introducing coconut oil into your food, ensure that the coconut oil is of good quality, not the hydrogenated coconut oil. There are different ways of extracting coconut oil, the best is the one that keeps it closest to its natural state.There are many good brands that offer high quality virgin coconut oil.
I eat coconut oil from a spoon and enjoy the creamy texture along with the coconut flavour. It is a vegetable oil and free of cholesterol.
My daughter enjoys mixing coconut oil with her morning coffee. It provides her with the energy she needs for long university days.
Your cup of coffee with a spoon of coconut oil can act as an uplifting hot drink. make a cup of your favourite hot drink and add a spoon of coconut oil.
You can spread it on your toast using raw coconut oil or prepare a delicious coconut butter to spread it.
Coconut oil is the healthiest oil for cooking because it is mostly saturated which gives it stability in high temperatures while cooking. I love frying my eggs in coconut oil, and to cook my rice with it. Actually you can cook any dish you like and you will have a tastier and healthier version of it.

Don't worry about the coconut taste it will not be obvious when you cook with it. the taste of virgin coconut oil is light and by heating it, it’s taste becomes even lighter so that can easily be over taken by the other flavours in the recipe. I use coconut oil in preparing my kids meal without them recognising it. Today my daughter who says that she doesn't like coconut flavour ate her bowl of soup that I cooked with coconut oil and asked for more!
