Hair Beauty minerals

By Yusra Hashim

Minerals, like sodium, magnesium, calcium and phosphorus are the electrolytes that control the acid/base balance.

We all aware of the importance of acid base balance for the body to function normally and for the health and beauty to take place in our life. This balance is measured by the ph. If it is less than 7 is acidic and above 7 is alkaline.

Acidity is a very common unhealthy state with decreased ph. level caused by consuming a demineralized food, and most of us suffer from.

Acidity is a major cause of inflammation, which is the underlying cause for many chronic health problems, such as; arthritis, allergies, obesity and autoimmune diseases.

David wolf, the super food expert writes in his book “eating for beauty”

“Beauty depends on mineralization. People living where minerals are rich in the food tend to be the most beautiful. Consider the beauty of the Nordics living beneath the glaciers, the Africans from volcanically rich areas, and the pacific islanders and Native Americans on their indigenous diet.”

“Becoming more deeply mineralized is a step-by-step process .it involves saturating one’s tissues with the beauty minerals silicon, sulphur, zinc, and iron”

Silicon

Highest concentration of silicon in the body is in the skin, hair and nails. It improves skin health and wrinkles. It gives hair strength and lustre. .Signs of silicon deficiency are thin and brittle hair and nails, hair loss, weak bones and tendons and prematurely aged skin .food rich in silicon are ;Tomatoes (in its skin) ,Cucumbers(in the  skin), Horsetail ,Radish ,Romaine lettuce ,Oats, and comfrey .

Sulphur

In nature sulphur present as MSM (methyl-sufonyle-methane) and it is found in the amino acids: methionine, taurine, cysteine, and cystine .with vitamin C it builds new tissues for hair, nails and skin. Because sulphur is easily destroyed by normal heat, most people are sulphur deficient.

“What David Wolf says about  Sulphur

“Essentially, through its ability to continuously build and rebuild perfect collagen and keratin Sulphur is able to make our hair, nails and skin shine with radiance .Sulphur truly is the most beautifying of all food nutrients and the best cosmetic in the world.”

MSM has affinity for water (this is why it is lost when food has its water removed by heating)”

“ MSM appears to be completely safe, even in large doses .it works best when taken in small quantities initially(1/4-1/2 tablespoon twice per day )and then it should be built up to one, two, and even three tablespoon taken twice each day”  .

Sulphur residue foods are;

Cabbage, hot chilis/peppers,broccoli,Brussels sprouts, garlic, hemp seeds ,horseradish kale ,bee pollen (the most complete food found in nature),onions, mustard ,pumpkin seeds, radishes(black , red and daikon),spirulina and watercress.

Iron

Low blood iron levels are associated with Poor hair growth.one of the signs of anaemia is hair loss. Reduced iron in the blood means low oxygen to the tissues. Use lemon on your green vegetable salad to maximize iron absorption. Iron rich foods include: beef or chicken liver, salmon, beans, broccoli, parsley, spinach, cacao beans, and dried apricot

"People who have problems with hair loss or hair growth tend to be iron deficient—especially women,"

Zinc

As part of the function of zinc in the body is to facilitate cellular repair and growth, it is essential for healthy growing of hair and prevents hair loss.

“Zinc, in combination with vitamin A and sulphur, build strong hair.”

                                                                              David Wolf

Food sources of Zinc are; Oyster, Beef, lamp, Coconuts, egg yolk, poppy seeds, cashews, pumpkin seeds, pecans, sesame seeds.

zinc overdose due to excessive zinc intake can cause hair loss ,but this problem cant  happen with natural food supplement consumption.
